Brand identity

Few elements, built to last

Name, symbol, colour, type — the things that make us recognisable.

Name

DESAIL joins Design and Detail. In Korean it is written 디세일. The uppercase DESAIL setting is used as-is in every language.

Symbol

A single stroke runs out at an angle from the shoulder of a serif D. That line — the part of the letter we chose not to finish — is our method: still recognisable with less.

DESAIL wordmark
DESAIL wordmark

Wordmark

The symbol's stroke crosses above the letters and binds DESAIL into one shape, with SOFTWARE set in wide tracking beneath. On narrow screens we use the symbol alone.

Colour

A single deep burgundy carries the brand. Large areas stay in a near-black neutral, and the burgundy lands only where the eye should stop.

Type

Pretendard for Korean, Manrope for Latin. Headings tighten their tracking to feel solid; body text keeps generous leading so it stays easy to read.

Usage

Do

  • Keep clear space around the mark equal to half the symbol's height.
  • Use white on dark backgrounds and the brand primary on light ones.
  • Below 24px wide, use the symbol instead of the wordmark.

Don't

  • Don't stretch, squash, or tilt the mark.
  • Don't add shadows, outlines, or gradients.
  • Don't place it on a background it can't hold contrast against.
